This house aspires to treat light and stair as actors within the narrative of the occupants and their daily lives. The stair, folding up out of the ground, changes in relation to the human body from wall to handrail, revealing the soft glow of light from above, dividing the tactile and the visual. It rises to meet the light, guiding it gently into the living spaces, facilitating the lives of the occupants and enriching their routines. In spaces so dominated by circulation, the circulation is obligated to become light well, furniture, storage, and rooms. As the only division between the occupants, the stair is the charged threshold where partitions, light, and life are shared.
